Meet Lo

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my little blog.

I’m a native Michigander who moved to Philly, then Chicago, and then back to Detroit for the love of my life, Mike – and the other love of my life, his daughter, Kat. They’re most of the reason this blog has content. They provide me with endless hours of entertainment …and life lessons.

The great Rick Ross once said, “Everyday I’m hustling.’”

Those words never rang truer than in 2015, when I became a wife, a stepmother, and a homeowner. I never realized how much hustle is required of a woman until I tacked these new roles on to my resume. The experience was – and continues to be – both exciting and terrifying. It has also taught – and continues to teach – me a new lesson, new tip, or new survival method every day.

One way I have been able to navigate these new roles is sheer luck and prayer. The other way is through the helpful tips from other lifestyle bloggers. I hope this blog is a place where you can get a piece of advice that helps make life a little easier.

The life of a wife, mother, homeowner, working gal – heck, any woman, really – requires hustle.  Like many women, I work hard to take care of my family. I am still getting the hang of it and I am excited to share with you what works – and what doesn’t.

I’m far from perfect. Most days, I don’t wear makeup. I love sleep and choose comfort over fashion. There are some months I live paycheck to paycheck to meet my financial goals and there are some days I have no idea how I am making it through without crying. I am telling you this because I never want you to finish reading a post thinking, “How does she do it?” (Am I the only one who is sometimes intimidated by beautiful, seemingly-perfect bloggers?!) Instead I hope you think, “If she can do it, I can definitely do it.” We’re all in this together after all.

Keep hustlin’,

Lauren
